Biography
Moraya Seeger DeGeare, MA, LMFT, has over a decade of experience as a licensed marriage and family therapist and holds additional certifications in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EDFT) and ADHD Strategies.
As a neurodivergent Black Biracial therapist, Moraya’s work recognizes how diversity in culture and cognitive processes impact interpersonal dynamics. Her approach combines somatic practices and a deep understanding of interpersonal dynamics, rooted in her vibrant, multicultural upbringing in a family of professional musicians and dancers.
Moraya is the author of ‘Can We Talk?’ for Refinery29 and has been featured in NPR’s Life Kit, Cosmopolitan, Self, Forbes, Vice, Glamour, Popsugar, Wondermind, Decrypt, and HuffPost. She co-founded BFF Therapy and is a key contributor at Evolve Therapy, a training hub that specializes in EFT for couples dealing with complex relationship issues, like infidelity and addiction.
Though her roots remain deeply embedded in New York, Moraya now lives on the coast of North Carolina with her partner and two children.
